A few of people have said this flu is attacking/making healthy people, people with healthy immune systems, sick.

I don't see any logic in this theory.  It's an assumption.

I'm not a betting man, however, I firmly believe that if tests were done on all of these people, if there are tests that can determine the quality of their immune system, that 'all' of these people had weakened immune systems.

If these people really had strong immune systems they would not have become sick.

Additionally,  persons monetary wealth does 'not' always determine the strength of their immune system.

Just my opinion.

I'm going to throw this out too.

Has anyone else given thought to the possiblitiy that a/the drug cartel(s) may have ventured into the biological weapons manufacturing business?  And, that someone in a lab got infected and passed it on, outside of the lab.

I believe it is 'not' out of the realm of posibilities.

As you wish Bruce. I don't have the time or inclination to go back and forth so I'll just say I disagree and leave it at that. Good luck on your campaign.

Like I said, everyone should do their own research  :)

Anyone know if "COLLOIDAL SILVER" would help dealing with the swine flu?

Actually a couple of gin and tonics with lots of lime, with a plate full of well smoked ribs and a side of just from the garden salad greens will probably keep you well. Let's not get so complicated.

Last night, I heard on our local news that some of the farms are going to have problems planting and harvesting because they have been denied permission  (by the US government) to bring in migrant workers. This could have a direct impact on the prices at the grocery store. Here is a link to the story along with some comments from people living in the area:

A lot of golf courses might be getting kind of rough.

I found it quite interesting to hear the words "flu medications are not manufactured in the US and the European countries are going to make supplying the US their top priority". So maybe, just maybe, this will be the wake up call to start making things on US soil as it really is in our own best interest. AND that the line of it is "unsafe" to buy meds from Canada is pure BS.

Just want to throw this out there, and someone probably already mentioned it, but with 10 pages to this thread, I'm not going to go back and read it all right now, no time.  I'll get to it later.

AHEMMMM (clearing throat, and putting on professional nurse hat):

HANDWASHING is THE best prevention of getting sick ESPECIALLY with any kind of flu.  If you remember to wash your hands BEFORE AND AFTER you eat, and BEFORE AND AFTER you use the restroom, you will cut your chances of getting any kind of illness significantly.

The other thing to remember is not to touch your eyes or nose, or any mucus membranes, and change your toothbrush.  All it takes is to open a door (put your hand on the knob) or use a contaminated keyboard, and then rub your eyes, and you can get sick.

Thought I should add this too, in case nobody else did:

Proper handwashing (and drying) technique:

Put your hands under warm (or even cool) water.  (Hot water can actually cause skin damage which is one more site infection can set in.)  Using soap, (preferably out of a dispensor as bar soaps are often contaminated).    Wash hands for 10-15 seconds under the running water.

Use a paper towel to dry your hands, and then use the same paper towel to turn off the faucet, and to open the door on the way to leaving the bathroom.  Then pitch in the trash.
