I'm thinkin I can go and sit out in the driveway and eat dirt if I want to, and the govt can't tell me I can't eat it. I don't sell what I grow, I can it and feed it to my family. Like LJ said, I'm a subsistance farmer; I derive no profit from grubbin in the dirt.

Are they going to start regulating the bird seed we put out for wild birds? I should actually charge the govt for all the state's effing turkeys I have been unintentionally feeding...but I digress...

Yes they already do. It is illegal to feed wild life in most places. I know in Juneau Alaska you will get fined if a bear eats your bird seed. Just a couple of examples.

Do you all really think it is that far a stretch for them to regulate your garden? They tell you to wear a seat belt, insulate your house, put on a helmet, Give me your money so I can give it to a guy on Wall Street. You don't think they can tell you only grow GM seeds. If we find Heirloom varieties you will be fined?

You all better wake up.

Well thats true I was thinking about Willow when I said it. Yes I can in Alaska, but it is still a Federal Crime if I grow to much. They regulate how much I can grow.

It's legal in parts of Cali, as well...although, Mendo lowered it from 25 plants to 6 plants.

But you can grow all the Kenaf you want, It just doesn't get you high.  Here in Texas if you don't feed the wild life you're not a true hunter. Thistle seed is heated to sterilize it so that it can't spread.
